Discussing Rural Transportation Options

3 Kinds Of Shuttles You Can Take At Your Airport Destination

Once you reach your destination, there are many ways you can get to your hotel from the airport.  While ridesharing, taxis, and even public transportation are all options, you may find that a shuttle service is one of the best ways to do it that is a middle ground for affordability with convenience.  Here are 3 kinds of shuttles available to you at your destination airport.

Limousine Shuttles

Traveling in a large group, such as for a destination bachelor or bachelorette party? There is no better way to travel than in a limousine.  The size is perfect for large groups, with a stretch limo fitting between 6-12 people.  If your group is bigger than that, stretch SUVs can fit as many as 20 people in them.

Just be aware of the rules that a limousine shuttle company will require you to follow. This could include a security deposit that holds your reservation, and an extra charge if you are going an extended distance from the airport. They do not typically allow you to smoke in them, and while they don't provide alcohol, check if you can bring your own.

Hotel Shuttles

It never hurts to check what amenities that the hotel at your destination offers.  It is possible that they have a free or very inexpensive shuttle that will take you directly to your hotel.  The actual shuttles themselves can range from a van to a vehicle the size of the bus, so if you're traveling with a passenger that needs a handicap accessible shuttle, you'll want to ask in advance so you know what kind of vehicle you can expect.

Airport Shuttle Companies

There should be plenty of companies that offer ground transportation between the airport and the hotels in the area (such as Yellow Cab).  You can book your shuttle ride in advance, or sometimes pay at the airport.  The big mystery with using a shuttle company is what hotels they service. Always check in advance to ensure that the company you are using services your hotel.

Since these shuttles service multiple hotels, you can expect your trip to take a little bit longer than usual. Chances are that you will not have a direct ride to your hotel since it will stop at other hotels along the way to drop off other passengers.  If you have the time in your itinerary, using a shuttle company can be a great choice.
